Hey guys! Thanks for coming back to read this new style post! You might be getting tired of my posts since they're all about fashion and style even if I try to add some sort of deep inspirational stuff and things to think about. Please bear with me for now as I try to think of other things to put up that would interest you. So for now I guess style posts accompanied by a few life lessons usually from my experience will have to do. I promise to try and add variety and color to this blog once I get some creative ideas. Hahaha

So for this post, the photos gave me the feeling of being lost in the middle of nowhere and away from all the distractions since we shot these photos in a small garden in between tall and busy buildings. It really made me feel like I was free from all the stress of the city even if we were surrounded by people rushing to the office and cars honking their horns at each other.

Have you ever been lost when you're all alone in a place you're not familiar with? If yes, then you probably know how terrifying it feels to be all alone in a place that you've never been to before. It feels like an endless search for anything familiar that you could find that might help you get back on track. After all the fear and stress, you finally find something familiar, may it be a landmark you remember or a friend who you were with before you got lost. This is when you feel that sense of relief and overwhelming happiness. Just like in life, the times when we feel lost and alone, are the times when we slowly find ourselves. Times like these allow us to know ourselves more and figure out who we really are and what we want to become. And just like when we are physically lost somewhere, time will come when the search will finally be over and we then find our true selves and come out as much better individuals. This is why I want to tell you to never be afraid to get lost. In fact, I encourage you to get lost. Go out and explore. Expose yourself to new adventures. Don't be afraid to be alone. Remember that the best thinking is done in solitude and being alone doesn't mean you're lonely. Find comfort in isolation and simply be happy.

So for this outfit, it's very clean and super simple. Very basic contrast coming from the soft light pink top, and the dark solid blue-green pants and pouch. The light pink and blue combination is very light and easy on the eyes. It's perfect for days out when the sun is up. It's a casual outfit which is why I opted for a simple pair of black and white loafers, yet it still gives that hint of class and sophistication which is why I decided to accent this outfit with a pair of semi-round glasses to finish off the look. Although black is a neutral color, the glasses and loafers both being black still add to that sense of color coordination.

Top: Light Pink Long Sleeves (similar one available at Lazada PH)
Pants: Blue-Green Stretch Jeans from H&M
Shoes: Black and White Loafers with Metal Buckle from Sledgers
Blue-Green Leather Pouch from FINO Leatherware
My favorite part of this outfit is the "blue with a tad bit of green" leather pouch. Its color is surprisingly very easy to match. I am able to use it with almost any of my outfits. It's also very handy for times when you need to bring things with you and your pockets just won't do. I will include this pouch in my next post with another set of colors to show you how versatile it is and just because I am currently in love with this piece. Hahaha

Long sleeves might be too formal just for a day out which is why I decided to roll up the sleeves to sort of balance it out. This type of glasses and a pouch also adds to that sort of formal vibe of this look which I evened out with casual loafers and folding up my pants a bit. I think I have mentioned this already in another post but balance is really the key to putting together a good outfit. Just make sure to not have too much  of anything in a particular outfit unless that is really the look you're going for.

That's all for now! I hope that you got something from this or any of my other posts.           Hey guys! I'm now back with another style post for this blog. As in my previous style post, SILENCE, I featured an outfit with nothing but black, gray, and white pieces. If you haven't seen it, you can check it out here. To make up for last post's lack of color, I decided to use a livelier color combination, pink and white with splashes of green and blue.

Welcome to that paragraph where we suddenly get deep. Hahaha. As we took photos on the beach for this post, I could not help but notice the footprints that I left along with the footprints of several others. One of my goals in life is to be remembered for something or at least make even the smallest difference in the lives of the people I meet. This is one of the main reasons why I actually decided to start blogging. I want to leave even just a little something to my readers. I know that being able to influence a huge group of people will really take time but I hope that this will be a good start because after all, "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". It doesn't matter who you are or what you do, you can be someone someday if you just work hard and do whatever you can to become who you want to be. Just don't be afraid to take that first step no matter what discouragements come your way. Lastly, never lose your real self as you journey to becoming who you want to be. Do not try too hard to be like someone else because "if you walk in the footprints of others, you won't make any of your own" so go ahead and mark your own footprints on the sand. Be careful though cause I actually burnt my foot a little when I walked barefoot so I suggest wear your shoes. Hahaha

Back to the outfit. This outfit gives off some summery vibes because of the colors and the tiny floral prints on the shirt. Mixing colors is not that difficult once you get used to it but sometimes it gets kinda tricky because there are times when you want to achieve that lively look but you don't want it too be too bright that the colors start clashing with each other. Just don't be afraid of trying out something new and playing around with colors (like how I used pink pants for this outfit). You'll never know which ones work out for you and which one don't unless you try. If you're going for that summery look that's casual but you want it more formal than your usual tank tops and shorts, you can go for a shirt with floral micro prints and bright colored pants. Just make sure that the color of your shirt and its prints aren't too loud because they might not do well with the bright pants.

So for this outfit, I wanted the color that stands out to come from my pants which is why I went with wearing these pink ones. I then wore a white long sleeve shirt which should easily work well with the pink pants as white, when added to any outfit, can help lighten the overall look so that it becomes easier on the eyes. The shirt also had dark green floral micro prints on it to add to the summery and beach look. This is also why I decided to fold up the sleeves just right below the elbows to keep the essence of the long sleeves but short enough to endure the summer heat. I wore dark blue shoes with dark green socks to create contrast with the brightly colored pink pants while still keeping connected with the top. I wore dark shoes and socks so that they don't take off the attention from the pink pants which I wanted to be the main source of color.

Shirt: White Long Sleeve Shirt with Dark Green Floral Micro Prints from MEMO
Pants: Pink Jeans from Zara
Accessories: Ray-Ban Aviator
Shoes: Dark Blue Brogue from Cole Haan
Socks: Plain Dark Green Socks from Uniqlo

During this time, most, if not all, of the universities have started classes and the college entrance exam season for those in high school is about to begin. I thought that it would be a good time to take a break from style posts and to write about college life which I can only base on my 3-week experience. Hahaha

White Shorts from PENSHOPPE
Blue Aztec Sneakers from ZALORA
One of the most important things that you'll have to learn is how to manage your time. Learn how to balance your academics, social life, and your other extra-curricular activities. There will be some days when you will have lots of free time so make sure to not waste it and make the most out of this because there will also be days when you have no extra time at all. Make sure that you are not sacrificing your academics but also make sure that you have time to have fun and hang out with your friends!

College is also when you get to meet different kinds of people. Let's face it, not everyone can be and should be your friend. This is why you need to choose your friends carefully. Try to avoid those who will be bad influences to you and those who will get you in trouble. Go for the ones who can be your study buddies during exams but can also be your party buddies in the right times. You and your friends should be serious when you need to be but you guys must also know how to have fun and enjoy whenever you can!

Being surrounded by different kinds of people is not that easy. Just don't forget to be yourself. Don't be afraid of being left out. You will always find your place. Stick to what makes you different and unique. Why would you want to be the same as everyone else? Being the same is boring. Don't force yourself to fit in and be like everyone else! Being yourself is being different. Being different is being unique. Being unique is being beautiful. So don't get lost in that crowd, STAND OUT!

Lastly, learn how to just relax, have fun, and enjoy! You are probably very stressed especially when you're a freshman like me since we just entered a whole new environment. Don't stress too much on anything and never be afraid of not knowing certain things. This entire journey is a learning process. Do not be afraid to try new things and explore. Go out of your comfort zone and see what this new journey has in store for you.

Blue and Orange Backpack from Herschel Supply Co.

Keep doing what you love and see you guys on the next post!

Hey guys! This was supposed to be posted a week ago but I really didn't have time to do it. I've been really busy these past few weeks because I had to do so many things for college as classes start already in a few days. Fortunately, after hours and hours of waiting in line and walking from building to building, I am finally done with the entire process and I am finally ready for school! Now that all of these stuff has been taken care of, I finally have the time to write another post again so here is a post where style meets poetry!

Warmth

Cold and alone in the dark of the night
I wander the streets in search for the light
I entered an alley and that's where I found you
You were what I needed, at that moment I knew

Your flames gave me the warmth that I needed
Comfort I found in bright orange and red
Falling in love with who once was stranger
We promised forever like there was no danger

As time passed we became closer and closer
And soon your flames just grew hotter and hotter
What once was comfort is now nothing but pain
But still I held on and ignored the voice from my brain

Soon I was burned by my beloved flame
I held you too close, a mistake I am to blame
I should've known better than to fall
And get too attached to a deceiving fireball

And now that I'm free from your magical spell
Witness a greater flame as I raise hell
What you don't know is that I am a storm
Just like you, I, too, can take a new form

I will bring showers and put your flames out
But did I love you? Yes, without a doubt
A fact that I can't change even now that we're burned out

I'm really a minimalist when it comes to dressing up. I usually just use plain pieces but I still keep it colorful by mixing and matching different colors and sometimes even screaming and loud colors. Hahaha. So for this outfit, it's a very plain and simple combination of neutral and warm colors. It kinda reminds me of like a fireplace where you have the flame surrounded by gray stones. As I promised in my previous post, I would use again this pouch in this post to show how flexible it when it comes to matching colors. This outfit also gives me that fall or autumn vibe because of the colors and you would also definitely compliment the colors of the falling leaves during this season.

Top: Gray Button-Down Shirt from Uniqlo
Pants: Red Cotton Pants from Basic House
Bag: Blue-Green Pouch from FINO Leatherware
Shoes: Gray Suede Boots from ZALORA

The pop of color in this outfit is only coming from the red pants which I contrasted with the blue pouch. Since red is a very strong color, I just decided to go neutral with gray for my top and shoes. That technique is something you can never go wrong with whenever you use colored pants. Just use the same neutral color for your top and shoes and it should work out just fine! I really enjoy the combination of shoes that are cut above your ankle, glasses, a button-down shirt, and a watch because it can instantly make you look dressed up without putting so much effort! Like I mentioned in my previous post, this blue pouch is really versatile because you can either match it with the same color or contrast it with another color in your outfit just like how I contrasted it with my red pants here.

That's it for now! Thanks for reading my post and I hope you like it! I will try to post regularly despite classes starting already. You can follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to get updated whenever I have a new post up on the blog! "Sometimes all we need is a little warmth"

Photos by Cams Olaguivel
Welcome back guys! First off, sorry for not posting for a month. I was just really full with lots of things to do. Despite all of these, I finally found time to work on my blog again. Yay! Hahaha. I'll really do my best to keep updating this blog regularly for all of you. So with that, here goes a post about being different and stepping out of your comfort zone.

For the people who are familiar with the way I dress, you would notice that this isn't the type of clothes that I actually wear. This is because this post is different from the two previous posts I made. This time, I actually didn't style myself. You'll find the credits to the amazing team behind these photos below. I decided to feature an outfit that's not styled by me to try and show another personality and perspective. One that is not similar to mine. I believe that getting exposed to different people with their own sense of style broadens your knowledge and gives you more ideas that you can use in your own outfits. I was not too confident with this outfit at first because as I previously said, it's not really similar to my usual outfits, but I was confident since my stylist friend never fails. When I saw the first few photos, I was happy with how the outfit turned out and I finally gained enough confidence to finish off the shoot. Something different isn't so bad after all.

The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the complete outfit is dancer. The combination of the pieces give off a dynamic and lively feel to it. These clothes really look like they were made to look best when in motion. It's very youthful and fresh. If you're just going out to the park or even to the mall and you want something very basic and casual, this outfit may just what you needed. It's very comfortable yet it's still very stylish. It may be just a simple outfit but it can definitely turn heads. It may really not what I'm used to wearing but I fell in love with this outfit. Because of this, I'm actually starting to wear outfits like this when I go out. Definitely no regrets on trying out something this new look.

Top: White Baseball Tee with Dark Blue Sleeves
Tied on the Waist: Light Wash Denim Long Sleeves
Joggers: Blue Joggers from OutKast Paradigm available at Brick and Mortar PH
Shoes: White Sneakers with Black Floral Print from American Eagle Outfitters
Cap: American Eagle Outfitters
The blue and white color combination of this outfit makes it look sporty and neat at the same time. The baseball tee, joggers, and cap, combined, give off that athletic feel. I like how the light wash denim long sleeves provides additional texture and another shade of blue to add variety. The  prints on the shoes and sneakers breaks the monotony of the outfit's solid colors. Baseball tees are very basic pieces that you can mix into your outfits. I consider them one of the essential pieces in my wardrobe that I can pull out for that casual and sporty look. I'm not so sure about where this tee came from but you can find one just like it here or you may check out LAZADA's Fashion Section for Men for stylish pieces that will definitely upgrade your wardrobe.

Watch: White G-Shock by Casio
Awkward smile to end the post haha

In conclusion, never be afraid to go out and try new things. Be brave enough to step out of your comfort zone because that is where great things happen. If we are always afraid to try new things, we will never discover something new. We will be stuck to our "usuals" which will end up becoming too ordinary and boring. I challenge you to try something new and different within the next 24 hours and make sure to tell me about it through my email (dgohernndz@gmail.com) and I'll make sure to reply. Follow me @diegohernndz on both Instagram and Twitter to stay updated! See you soon on my next post and keep doing what you love!

The wait is finally over! I'm really sorry for the long wait but at least this post is finally up, right? I decided to start with something very basic by going for a very simple outfit made up of black, white, and a little bit of gray which also matches the color scheme of the blog.

Personally, I am a huge fan of bright colors and I enjoy mixing and matching different colors and just playing around with them. I feel like they bring more life to what I'm wearing and they are more expressive, however, I still enjoy the simplicity of what going black and white brings. We must never forget to appreciate the beauty that simplicity brings to everything around us. There are times when I just want a break from the loudness of colorful clothes and I just want to enjoy that sort of silence with neutral colored outfits that are very easy to wear. After all, silence speaks when words can't. Yes, style and clothes can really teach you things about life. After all, fashion is a way of life, right? Hahaha. Just pretend I didn't try too hard to find a connection and make it relevant.

So whenever you feel like you want an outfit that's very easy to wear, and something not too risky and bold, try playing around with neutral colors (or in this case black and white). The good thing with black and white is that it never gets old and it's always in style. It's really hard to go wrong with these colors and yet they can still make you look like you really put in effort in putting together your outfit. You can now not stress too much about what you're going to wear but still look stylish at the same time.

For this outfit, I decided to go dark with black chinos and black Vans which I then decided to create some sort of contrast with a white long-sleeve shirt with black/gray prints. What I'm wearing on top is very light which balances out the darkness of what I'm wearing below. This allows the outfit to not look too dark and too black. Always remember, too much of anything is bad. Haha

Top: White Long-sleeve Shirt with Black/Gray Prints from Old Navy
Pants: Black Chinos from Uniqlo
Belt: Black and White Stretch Belt from Uniqlo
Shoes: All Black Vans with Gray Soles

Thanks for reading my first ever blog post! I hope you liked it! I am so happy to share this journey of mine with all of you. Keep doing what you love and see you soon on the next post!
